KeymasterNearing the end of a super-challenging year, and in the midst of Holiday Blues, I find the hope of Christmas more important than ever.
What meaning does Christmas have for you? Do you tend to wallow in Holiday Blues? Are there things you find meaningful in the traditions? What is a tradition you enjoy?December 2, 2020 at 8:30 am #915Anonymous
InactiveFor me, Christmas is a special time of the year to celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ and also spend quality time with loved ones, feasting with delicious meals, sharing gifts, showing love and care to those who do not have and also those who have (not everyone who has is happy, so sometimes we need to reach out to some people who ordinarily we wouldn’t have dreamt about showing love to or whom we don’t think deserve care). I love the beautiful decorations I see around me during Christmas. I want to get involved in making these beautifications both at home and in church this season. I want to be very much involved in spreading love and showing care this season, and of course, I hope to receive a lot of this from loved ones and those I do not even know too. I’m wishing you a merry Christmas here from Lagos, Nigeria. God bless you all. Lots of love to you Carol, your team and every member of this community!

ParticipantChristmas is a special time of year. I have always enjoyed the decorations, but then the house seems so empty when they are gone! We have always tried to emphasize that Christmas is about Jesus, so we made it a tradition to bake Jesus a birthday cake every year so our daughter would truly know what we are celebrating. I think that’s one of her favorite parts! Something that helps me personally to remember that Christmas is really about celebrating Jesus’ birthday is getting alone with Jesus right before the big day and asking Him what He would like from me personally for His birthday. And then I wait for His reply. Sometimes He may want me to give Him a bad habit or give Him a fear. Maybe He wants me to do something special for someone else for His birthday. Not traditional birthday gifts, but giving these to Him for His birthday is just want He wants!
