My goal for this year is to practice “switching my thoughts.” I’m developing a list of tools to use when a negative or anxious thought enters my mind, so that I can switch from something unhealthy to a thought that honors God. The first tool is gratitude. When I’m feeling overwhelmed with worry and the Holy Spirit lets me know my mind is starting to go down the wrong path, I’m going to switch my thoughts to gratitude. I have a list of other things I can switch to also, like Scripture or prayer.
