Christmas is a special time of year. I have always enjoyed the decorations, but then the house seems so empty when they are gone! We have always tried to emphasize that Christmas is about Jesus, so we made it a tradition to bake Jesus a birthday cake every year so our daughter would truly know what we are celebrating. I think that’s one of her favorite parts! Something that helps me personally to remember that Christmas is really about celebrating Jesus’ birthday is getting alone with Jesus right before the big day and asking Him what He would like from me personally for His birthday. And then I wait for His reply. Sometimes He may want me to give Him a bad habit or give Him a fear. Maybe He wants me to do something special for someone else for His birthday. Not traditional birthday gifts, but giving these to Him for His birthday is just want He wants!
